2021 Is Finally Here! 

A Wonderful Place To Be Under This Tree A Bride To Be.

🥳🥳and The Best Of 2020 Weddings Blog Is Live!!!🥳 You Know, I Typically Photograph Around 40 Weddings Or So A Year. This Year, I Would Have Hit Over 200 Weddings Photographed In 6.5 Years. And Then...well You Know What Happened…. And The 41 Weddings I Had On The Books This Year Got Postponed, And Some Even Canceled. While I Am All About Seeing The Positive Of 2020, I’m Not Going To Lie, This Year My Wedding Business Really Took A Hit, Like So Many Others. There Was A Lot Of Tears, Both From My Couples And Myself. A Lot Of Money Lost. Like, An Almost Unbearable Amount Of Money That When You Think About It Makes You Sick To Your Stomach. As A Small Business Owner, Your Income Always Fluctuates, And You Have To Be Prepared For That. When A Pandemic Hits And Your Weddings Essentially Come To A Halt, Yeah, There’s No Plans For That…. But You Know What….i Am Blessed That I Have The Most Incredible Couples On The Planet…no..in The Universe. Majority Of My Couples Rescheduled Their Weddings, Most Around My Schedule. They Paid Their Balances Early. They Reviewed My Business, Sent Referrals, And Checked In On Me As Much I Checked In On Them! And, I Was Able To Still Photograph Some Beautiful Weddings And Editorials! I’m Learning That Home Is More Of A Feeling Than A Place, And Adventures Don’t Have To Be Outside Of Your Zip Code. I Used To Get Jealous Of All Of These Photographers Living In Cool Places Like California Or Utah- “of Course Their Portfolios Are Amazing, Mine Would Be Too If I Had That As A Backdrop!” I Was So Envious Of The Locations They Had At Their Disposal, And Lamented The Unfair Correlation Between Notoriety And One’s Home Base. And While It’s Definitely True That Dramatic Landscapes Garner Likes More Easily, It’s Absolutely False That You Need To Live Somewhere Cool To Create Magical Photos. Not That Florida Isn’t Cool, I Guess- It’s Just So Flat😭 I Thought I Hated Our Sea-level Elevation, And Unpredictable Weather, And All Of Our Freaking Palm Trees Everywhere. When I First Started Setting Up Shoots And Would Brainstorm With My Peers, They’d Say, “where Do You Want To Go?” And My Response Would Always Be, “somewhere That Doesn’t Look Like Florida.” I Wanted Mountains And Valleys, And Tall Grasses And Pine Trees, Red Rocks And Cliff Faces And Redwoods And Moss! (so I’m Moving, But That’s A Different Story!) I Was So Busy Wanting What I Didn’t Have That I Never Stopped To Appreciate This State Of Mine. I’m Going To Miss The Beach. I’m Going To Miss This Incredible Sunrise Lighting, Even Though I Have A Love/hate Relationship With Early Alarms. I’m Going To Miss The Incredible Couples I’ve Gotten To Work With! But It’s All Taught Me An Important Lesson: You Can Find Adventure Anywhere. That’s True For Absolutely Everybody, But Photographers, I’m Talking To You Here: Try Something New. Manipulate The Light Differently, Add Foreground, Be Strategic About Your Background, Invest In A New Posing Course. When You’re At The Beach, Get Away From The Water! Look For New Angles And New Opportunities. Do One Thing At Every Shoot That You’ve Never Tried Before. Edit A Photo Without Using Your Presets. You Can Find Magic Everywhere. You May Just Have To Get A Little Creative😉✨

There Is A Beautiful, Tree-lined Section Of The Trail Creating A Romantic Backdrop To Capture Your Candid Moments. The Best Entrance To Reach This Part Of The 606 Is The Drake Avenue Entrance.

This Week I Got To Spend A Magical Evening With Andrea & Ted In Yosemite National Park. They Asked Me To Photograph Their Vow Renewal In A Place They Love The Most.
