Recently engaged and looking for a unique location in Chicago for your engagement session? Photos along the river walk or at the famous Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk are always beautiful, but you may want to find a location off the beaten path. I have compiled a list of some of my favorite lesser known locations that are sometimes overlooked but absolutely stunning! The best part is they are also great locations for wedding photos.
The Treelined Path On The 606
The 606, also known as the Bloomingdale Trail, is a 2.7 mile recreation trail running East-West on the Northwest side of Chicago near the Logan Square neighborhood. There is a beautiful, tree-lined section of the trail creating a romantic backdrop to capture your candid moments. The best entrance to reach this part of the 606 is the Drake Avenue Entrance.
”Greetings From Chicago” Mural
If you have driven down Milwaukee Ave in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, you have probably have already seen this unique mural! Originally built in 2015 by the Greetings Tour folks, this mural is a wonderful homage to Chicago favorites such as Deep Dish Pizza, The Bean and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off! Fortunately, it is located near a parking lot at Milwaukee & California, so it is an easy spot if you are driving between locations.
Chicago Theatre Sign
The Chicago Theatre is one of the most iconic music venues in the city. The dazzling sign will add a unique flavor to your engagement photos. Although it is located at State St and Lake St, standing in the middle of State St and Randolph St is actually the best spot to capture some precious moments! One you have the green light on Randolph, you can quickly capture some photographs on State St before the light changes. As a bonus, the on-lookers usually honk and cheer in celebration!
Wicker Park 606 Bridge
The 606 Trail is so underrated that it deserves 2 spots on this list! Near the east end of the trail in the Wicker Park Neighborhood, there is an industrial looking bridge with stunning curved supports that look like they belong along the Chicago River. The bridge is located near Milwaukee Ave and Leavitt St.
