How to Write Your Own Wedding Vows

Writing your own vows is such a sweet way to personalize your wedding day and make it even more memorable. But, we know it's tough to put your feelings into words. Here are a few tips to help!

1) Don’t copy/paste a sample or someone else's vows from the internet. The words won't sound like you, and how boring that they've already been said before!

2) Never reference your or your partner's past relationships. No comparing, even if to say how much better your current partner is. Why bring up the past on your wedding day?

3) Write your vows as you will say them TO YOUR PARTNER. Don’t write for an “audience” or to impress your guests. You are making vows to your partner, so focus your words on and to them.

We know getting started is tough. We recommend all of our couples use the Vow Writing Journal from I Just Want To Say Journals, to help them personalize the perfect vows, and you can find more tips on our blog!

No matter what you put down on paper and share with your spouse-to-be, as long as it comes from your heart, they're going to love it. Cheers to your forever!
