Classic But Chic Spring Wedding At Hawthorn Estates

When Marissa from Marissa Naylor Photography approached me about putting together a styled shoot, I was most definitely interested! Because of the pandemic it had been a long time since I had worked on a styled shoot and I was chomping at the bit to put something together!

Our initial plan was to create an all inclusive intimate wedding experience out in the solarium at the beautiful Hawthorn Estates but the weather had other plans that day! Due to high winds and freezing cold winds at that, we had to change our plans that morning and move our shoot in doors. Hawthorn Estates has so much to offer to it really wasn't an issue and I think it turned out for the best when it was all said and done.

I reached out to some new vendors that I haven't had the opportunity to work with yet, like Union Table for the tableware and then teamed up with some past favourites such as Planned Perfectly for the linens. We then went with a subtle spring inspired sage green and peach palette. The weather outside was screaming winter storm but inside spring was definitely in the air!

We set up two tablescapes, with slight differences between the two, a ceremony space and a cake table. Our first table was set up in front of some simple but pretty white drapery and made for a light and bright backdrop.

For our second table, we moved over to the incredible stone fire place and that's where the magic happened!

For the ceremony and cake table, we moved it back to the white drapery and set up an intimate space for a cozy but stunning ceremony spot.

Everett Derksen Video also created a beautiful recap video for the day and it summed up every aspect perfectly!

All in all it was so refreshing to get back into creating and designing for a styled shoot and I'm so pleased with how it turned out! Our vision was brought to life with an A-List team of vendors and I'm so honoured and grateful for the wonderful wedding industry that we have here in Winnipeg, Manitoba!
