The Marcus Syndicate is a 7-piece traveling band based in San Diego. We've performed in hundreds of weddings, clubs, casino’s, and corporate events. We are in other touring bands, have recording labels, and are in high demand as guest musicians in many local bands. Our members are seasoned veterans both formally trained and self-made. As a cover band we’ve mastered the music styles of over 30 top artists such as Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse and Pharo Williams. San Diego resident Paul Marcus arrived from Boston, Massachusetts in 2017. He brought his piano (and his Maine accent) with goals of setting a music life in an unfamiliar town. Today he runs his seven-piece band comprised of both formally-educated school types and the musically self-made. His biggest ambition for the band was to replicate the sounds of the original recordings. For his band, replicating records means matching a very wide variety of natural and synthesized sounds and styles from five decades of music.
