I Love Shooting At Abraham Lake & I Wish More People Would Get Married There, But On The Other Hand, I Kinda Want It To Not Get Crazy Popular So We Can Still Enjoy It. Dilemma.

I Was Back At Moraine Lake Yesterday, My First Day Since The Road Was Re-opened This Year. Originally Kevin Had Planned A Surprise Proposal For Charlene There But He Got Excited And Popped The Question A Day Early! This Was One Of 2 Surprise Proposals That I Was Going To Do At Moraine This Year... I'm No Longer Offering Them As A Full Surprise. I Actually Didn't Sleep The Night Before Out Of Fear For All The Things That Could Go Wrong Trying To Do This At Moraine Lake. I Might Have Cheered A Little When I Got The Email Saying He Had Already Proposed Haha⠀ ⠀ Moraine Lake Was Looking A Bit Different Than Usual Yesterday. It's Still Pretty Much Frozen Except For A Small Open Section, But The Water Levels Also Crazy Low, Like 15 Feet Lower Than Usual Because, I Imagine, There Hasn't Been Enough Melt. It Was Super Tricky To Shoot There, More Than Usual Even, Because There Were People Everywhere In The Background On The Ice. I Almost Never Pull A Photo Into Photoshop, But There Were So Many People And Their Reflections In The Water, I Had To Make It All Go Away Or I Wouldn't Have Been Happy. Swipe To See The Before!

Snow In June. Yep. You Hear That It Can Happen But You Really Don't Expect It. Well, That's What We Got For Romie & Ripsi's Engagement Session Yesterday At Moraine Lake. The Mountains Looked Awesome Covered In Snow, But Boy Was It Chilly, Especially For Ripsi! They Rocked It Though!

Ok, You're Gonna Want To Read This Because There Is A Life Lesson At The End.⠀ ⠀ Romie & Ripsi Have Been Together For 7 Years. They've Been Engaged For 2 Years Are Getting Married Quite Soon Back Home In North Carolina. They Decided To Do Engagement Photos While On Holiday In Banff. It Snowed Yesterday And It Was Cold. They Toughed It Out For A Couple Hours And At The End Romie Wanted To Re-create A Proposal Photo. Ripsi Was Cold (can't Blame Her, She Wasn't Dressed For Freezing Temperatures) And Told Him No. He Looked So Disappointed But Didn't Fight It. We Walked Along On Our Way Down From The Rock Pile To Head To The Cars... And I Asked If We Could Do The Photo For Him Because He Looked So Sad (i Didn't Know What He Had Planned Either!). Ripsi Said Yes And We Went To Set Up The Shot. Romie Took Out A Tiffany Box, One That Ripsi Thought Was Left At Home (there Was A Bit Of A Conversation About That), Got Down On One Knee, Opened The Box... Where There Was A Second Tiffany Ring Inside! He Surprised Her With Another Beautiful Ring!!⠀ ⠀ So What's The Life Lesson Here? If Your Fiance Wants To Recreate A Proposal Photo, Do It! At First I Thought I'd Share The Photo In The Meadow From Last Night Where Mama Grizzly & Her 2 Cubs Popped Up Abut 100 Meters Away From Us, But I Know I Was Asking A Lot Of Have James & Maleah Teetering On The Edge Of This Rock High On The Rock Pile, So I Feel Like I Need To Show It Off So That They Know It Was Worth It! I Mean, If You Can Safely Get Away From A Bunch Of Grizzly Bears, You Can Pretty Much Do Anything, Right?⠀ ⠀ Let's Not Talk About My Crazy Footing On The Side Of The Rock Pile Doing An Awkward Wall Squat Against The Rocks Trying To Get The Right Angle To Block Out The People Below Us!!
