For This Destination Wedding We Travelled To Myrtle Beach, A City And Vacation Resort On South Carolina’s Atlantic Coast. It Is The Hub Of The Grand Strand, A 60-mile String Of Beaches. Along Its Beachfront Boardwalk Are Arcades, Souvenir Stands And Restaurants, As Well As The Skywheel, One Of The Country’s Tallest Ferris Wheels. This Time We Worked With Ryan Smith From Ryan Smith Photography Who Is Local To The Area And Was Amazing On The Day Of The Wedding. The Ceremony Was Held At The Beach Front And The Reception At The Doubletree Resort By Hilton In The Carolina Ballroom With The Great View Of The Ocean And The Pier. Toniqua And Lorenzo Were Shining From Love, Happiness And Contentment. It Was Special To See Their Families Come Together For This Special Occasion Timed Between Christmas And New Years. This Wedding Was A Dream To Plan And Design! When I First Met Cindy And Ramez, I Felt An Immediate Connection And That Really Helps To Get The Creative Energies In Sync And Flowing. The Main Reason They Decided To Go With A Destination Wedding In Mexico Is Due To Cindy’s Mexican Heritage But Also, They Figured With A Destination Wedding They’d Have Fewer Guests, Therefore Making It A More Intimate Affair. One Of The Most Interesting Things, However, Was That They Were Not Exactly Looking To Have A Beach Wedding, They Wanted A “winter Wonderland” Wedding In The Mexican Caribbean! These Two Words Stuck In My Head And Became The Main Source Of Our Inspiration. Sure, The Wedding Is In December And It Will Be In The Tropics, But Let's Bring “december” —and The Winter People Associate With It—to The Beach! Why Not!? Cindy And Ramez Decided To Use The Ballroom For Their Reception, Which Has A Classic Yet Modern Design With Shades Of White, Gold, And Marble As The Main Colors. We Re-carpeted The Whole Ballroom With A White Carpet To Make The Look More Crisp, And To Perhaps Give It The Essence Of Snow. Our Amazing Groom Has A Persian Heritage, Therefore The Wedding Had To Be A Blend Of Both Cultures. The Menu Was Based On Mexican And Persian Influences With A Mix Of Flavors And The Music And Dancing Also Very Brilliantly Merged The Persian And Latin Cultures Together Creating A Truly Unique Ambiance. Something I’ve Seen Never Done Before But Got Chills When My Team And I Saw It All Come To Life! And…when You Think Of A Riviera Maya, Mexico Destination Wedding, A Black-tie Affair May Not Be The First Thing That Comes To Mind! More Like A Barefoot In The Sand Image Comes Forth, Right? But, In This Case, We Merged Both And The Result Was Beyond Spectacular. We Could Not Be Happier To See The Results Of The Planning Come To Life With This Mexican Winter Wonderland Wedding!

2 Years Ago Jon And Monica Met Like Any New Modern Day Couple Using A Dating App. It's The Way We Met. We Can't Choose How We Meet But Its How The Story Really Unfolded. Monica Really At First Wasn't That Interested Lol She Was More Like A Free Bird. Just Wanting To Travel And Explore The World. Little Did She Know Jon Was Up For His Next Adventure Just Moving From Spain And Backpacking All Of Europe By Himself He Was Able To Get To Know Who He Really Was And What He Had To Offer. After One Conversation At A Local Bar Didn't Mean That That They Were In Love Yet Lol It Took Some Time Just As Friends. Walks In The Parks, Wine Over Sunsets And Eventually A Kiss On The Beach That Changed Their Lives. 2 Year Later, Jon Surprised Her With A Wedding Proposal Like No Other In Big Sur, California.
