On Occasion, As A Photographer, I Find Myself Falling In Love With The Details Of A Client’s Wedding, Which Is Precisely What Happened While Second Shooting For Katie And Doug’s Wedding At gardner Ranch In Carmel Valley. Being A Second Shooter Typically Means I Get To Hang Back Just A Little More Than I Typically Would On A Wedding Day. As The Second Shooter, My Job Is To Capture The Smaller Details The Day And Venue Have To Offer While The Primary Photographer Works Through The Client’s Shot List. Luckily For Me, Gardner Ranch Had An Abundance Of Swoon-worthy Details, And Katie And Doug’s Touches Played Off Of Those Details Beautifully.
gardener Ranch Is A 24-acre Property About 25 Minutes Southwest Of Monterey Nestled In The Sun-soaked Hills Of Carmel Valley. The Canopies Of Oak, Sycamore, And Willow Trees Create A Romantic Diffused Light As The Sun Streams Through The Leaves On The Tree-studded Ranch. One Of The Most Picturesque Parts Of The Property Is The Woodland Lawn. The Naturally Styled Grassy Field And Greenery Beneath The Trees Make You Feel As Though You’ve Stumbled Into A Previously Undiscovered California Meadow. This Tranquil Scene Is Where Katie And Doug Chose To Exchange Their Vows.
katie And Doug Let The Beauty Of Their Surroundings Speak Almost Wholly For Themselves. Their Only Addition To The Backdrop Was Arrangements Of Eucalyptus, Feathery Pampas Grass, And Muted Florals To Line The Aisle. They Let The Branches Of A Sycamore Tree Be Their Wedding Arch, And The Lush Grass Be Their Aisle Runner. The Bridesmaids Wore Blush-hued Dresses, And The Groomsmen Wore Navy Blue Suits. Katie’s Gown Had A Beaded Lace Bodice And A-line Tulle Skirt That Felt Airy And Ethereal In The Dappled Lighting. With Vows Exchanged, And Their Union Sealed With A Kiss, Katie And Doug Left The Woodland Lawn Hand In Hand As Husband And Wife.
after The Ceremony, The Celebration Shifted To Gardener Ranch’s Clubhouse Patio Beside Its Sparkling Pool. Katie And Doug Chose To Host Their Reception Outdoors Under Market Lights Strung From The Treetops. The Weather Stayed Perfect All Day Long For The Outdoor Ceremony And Toasting The New Couple In The Open Air. When It Came Time For Dessert And Dancing, Guests Were Welcomed Inside By A Cozy Brick Fireplace And Retro Black And White Tile Flooring Beneath Their Feet. The Energy Of The Space And The Joy Of Katie And Doug’s Guests Ensured That The Day Ended Full Of Fun.
gardner Ranch’s Mix Of Rustic, Natural Overtones And Its Chic, Elegant Details Lend Themselves To Almost Any Couple’s Style While Ensuring Romance Stays At The Forefront Of The Occasion. Gardner Ranch Also Offers Onsite Lodging Just As Beautiful As Its Celebration Spaces, Allowing Its Guests The Option Of Spending Their Entire Wedding Weekend With The Property As Their Private Paradise.
while I Find Details I Love At All The Weddings I Have The Privilege Of Photographing, I Have To Admit That Gardner Ranch Swept Me Off My Feet. I Hope I Have The Opportunity To Return There To Celebrate Another Couple Soon.

i'm Going Wild Over Over This Elopement Session I Shot With Sallie & Brent! Their Wedding Was Originally Planned For 2020, But Has Now Been Rescheduled To Next Year Due To The Covid-19 Shutdown. So We Planned An Elopement Session To Celebrate Their Official Wedding Day. They're Such A Fun Couple, And I Had An Amazing Time Photographing Them In This Gorgeous Place. Looking Forward To Heading Out To Ny To Photograph Their Big Celebration Next Year!

many Thanks To Susanne At Crown Weddings For Putting It All Together And Dawn At Tularosa Flowers For The Beautiful Florals.

prince Edward County Is A Beautiful Place To Get Married, And Darcy And Naren Had The Perfect Intimate Wedding At the Drake Devonshire. They Wrote Their Own Vows For The Ceremony Overlooking Lake Ontario. The Couple Shared That They "decided On An Elopement Because We Wanted It To Be Just About Us."

darcy And Naren Originally Had Planned For Their Wedding To Be In 2020, But With All That's Happening, They Decided To Postpone To 2021. When January Of 2021 Rolled Around, They Were Faced With A Decision On Whether Or Not To Postpone The Wedding. They Decided It Was Time To Get Married And So They Eloped.

It’s No Secret That 2020 Was A Year Full Of Postponements, Questions Marks And Uncertainty; Especially For Couples Planning Such Big Events As Their Wedding Days.  This Was The Case With Our Sweet Couple, Neil And Elyse, Who Never Dreamed Their 2020 Wedding Plans Would Be Affected By A Global Pandemic!
after Getting Engaged In The Spring Of 2019, They Went To Work To Plan Their Special Day At The Beautiful And Historic, Toronto Golf Club.  The Stunning Clubhouse, The Natural Surroundings, The Club’s Renowned Chef And Both The Indoor And Outdoor Ceremony And Reception Locations Made It The Perfect Choice For Elyse And Neil’s Garden Party-inspired Wedding Day.  Their Original Plans Included A Beautiful Ceremony Under The Big Maple Tree And Dinner For Over 100 Guests In The Clubhouse’s Dining Room.  As Canada Began To Face Serious Lockdown Measures In March 2020; However, It Became Clearer And Clearer That It Most Likely Wouldn’t Be Possible To Celebrate Their May Wedding.  The Number Of Cases Was Rising Very Quickly In The Toronto Area And The Authorities Had To Set Very Strict Measures For Gatherings.
they Moved Their Wedding To September With The Hope That By The End Of Summer The Situation Would Improve.  As The Province Began Entering The Final Stage Of Opening Towards The End Of August, Elyse And Neil Decided That They Were Going To Go Ahead Even If It Meant Having A Different- Looking Wedding Day Than What They Had Originally Planned. They Went To Work With The Club’s Manager To Plan Their Ceremony And Cocktail Party For 70 Guests (the Regulations In The Region At That Time Stated 100 People Or Less Were Permitted At An Outdoor Event).  In Order To Ensure The Safety Of All Attendees, The Club Prescreened All Guests According To Health Canada’s Guidelines.
although They Had To Sacrifice Having All Of Their Invitees Present, They Made Sure That All Their Friends Could Login Via Zoom To Be A Part Of Their Special Day.
elyse Then Had An Emotional Walk With Her Dad Down The Aisle.  Technical Difficulties With The Music Made For Such A Memorable Walk As All The Guests All Chimed In And Began Humming, ‘here Comes The Bride’ As Elyse Made Her Way To Her Groom.
from Their Very Meaningful Ceremony, The Couple Welcomed Their Guests To A Garden-inspired Sit-down Cocktail Party On The Lawn.  Tables Were Set Apart According To The Government’s Required Distance Standards And Guests Were Served Their Drinks And Appetizers At Their Tables To Avoid Unnecessary Movement Between Social Bubbles.
after Saying Goodbye To Their Guests, The Newlyweds Continued The Celebrations With An Intimate Dinner In The Clubhouse With Their Immediate Families. As The Very Happy Evening Came To An End, Their Families Surrounded The Couple With Love And A Final Celebratory Sparkler Cheer Which Lit Up The Dark Sky.
support Has Been So Important This Year For So Many Reasons.  Documenting Elyse And Neil’s Support System, Including Their Family And Friends, And The Love And Encouragement They Share Was Such An Honour.  As With So Many Couples This Year, Plans Had To Adapt And Change For Them; However, We Cannot Think Of How Their Day Could Have Been Any More Joyous.  It Left Our Hearts Full!!
