There's A Few Moments Each Day Where The Sun Is In The Perfect Spot & It Creates The Most Amazing Light. Most Of The Time I'm Doing Something That Doesn't Involve A Camera & I Always Wish I Just Had A Handful Of People Wandering Around Randomly With Me For Those Moments. Well Last Night, Luckily, I Was Photographing Callie & Austin At Lake Louise Following Their Wedding... We Were Treated With The Most Delicious Light! Seriously, 20 Seconds Of Pure Magic! I Am Happy.

I Go Back & Forth On When It's My Favourite Time To Be In Lake Louise... But It's Now. The Time Of Year When The Snow Is Falling, The Air Is Frosty But The Lake Isn't Frozen & That Blue-green Water Looks Especially Magical With The Snow All Around. I Don't Think Amber & Jordan Could Have Picked A More Amazing Time To Be Here!

I Knew I Wanted To Shoot In This Spot When I Looked At It Earlier In The Day But We Didn't Make It Out There Before The Sun Dropped Away (i Was Hoping To Get A Little Backlight Through The Trees) & Winter Light, Especially In The Shadow Of The Mountain, Can Be So Cold. I Was Talking To Monica (the Bride) Over Email About Backup Plans For The Ceremony And She Was So Positive The Entire Time. Morning Of The Wedding It Continued Raining And We Packed Everything Up And Traveled Over The Summit. As We Are Driving Higher And Higher It Starts Snowing...not Just Light Snow But Full On Winter Wonderland Snow. It Was A Sight To See But All I Could Think Of Was What Was Going On At The Venue. As We Passed Truckee The Snow Began To Dissipate And Everything Started To Feel Fresh And New. As We Got To The Venue The Rain Had Stopped But The Grass Was Soaking Wet. The Staff At The Venue Were Working Hard To Make The Ceremony Area Perfectly Ready For The Couple. Everyone’s Feet Were Soaking Wet But It Didn’t Stop Anyone From Creating Magic For These Two.
