I Had Spied This Spot When I Was Driving On The Highway Last Week & Filed It Away As A Spot I Wanted To Try To Shoot At. From Above I Thought The Water Was A "puddle"... Turns Out It Was A Freezing Cold Mountain Stream... But Anyway.⁠ ⁠ After Kim & Dan's Ceremony & Photos At Peyto, We Were Headed To Bow Lake & I Really Just Wanted To Do Photos Here... So We Pulled Off On The Side Of The Highway & Went Down The Bank. I Got Them Over On The Rocky Area With The Wildflowers And I Looked At The Puddle... And Realized It Was Pretty Deep. I Was Hell Bent On Getting That Reflection Though.⁠ ⁠ So I Took Off My Hiking Boots & Socks, Rolled My Pants Up As High As I Could And Stepped Into That Freezing Mountain Stream To My Knees. Then I Felt The Slick, Goopy Muck That Was Lining The Bottom Of The Stream Squish Through My Toes And Go Up To My Ankles. Yuck. I Waded Out Slowly Since It Was Slippery And Found A Spot Where I Could Get The Reflection & We Waited A Little For My Steps To Be Erased From The Surface.⁠ ⁠ Then We Got Magic! Like Whole Bunches Of Magic! I'm So Happy Kim & Dan Were Ok To Climb Down Into Essentially What Was Another Ditch To Let Me Take This Photo! ⁠ ⁠ Sometimes The Spots That I Want To Take You Seem A Little Weird Or Iffy, But I Swear Its Only To Be Able To Create Something This Amazing For You.⁠ ⁠ And I'm Still Cleaning Mud Out From Between My Toes... That Stuff Was Like Super Glue.

Driving To Lake Louise Yesterday, The Rain Was Coming Down Pretty Hard. I Was Thinking It Was Going To Be Another Day Of Battling The Rain. But The Weather Gods Smiled On Laura & Nick For Their Elopement Yesterday.⁠ ⁠ We Had Low Clouds & Brightness Of The Sun Trying To Fight Through... My Favourite Weather. It Was Chillier & That Kept People Away So Lake Louise Wasn't Too Crazy Busy For Their Ceremony!⁠ ⁠ After Wandering The Shores Of The Lake For A While, It Started To Sprinkle So We Headed Off To Emerald Lake For Canoe Photos. We Were Blessed With Magical Clouds & Still Waters... And The Best Part Was That Emerald Lake Wasn't Busy Either! Although, That Didn't Stop The Small Group Of People There From Frantically Taking Photos Of Laura & Nick During Our Portrait Session!⁠ ⁠ After Leaving The Lake, We Stopped To Play In The Road To Get Some Epic Car Photos (cause Look At That Car!!)... Again Luck Was On Our Side Because Traffic Was Light! What A Fantastic Day We Had!

I Was Talking To Monica (the Bride) Over Email About Backup Plans For The Ceremony And She Was So Positive The Entire Time. Morning Of The Wedding It Continued Raining And We Packed Everything Up And Traveled Over The Summit. As We Are Driving Higher And Higher It Starts Snowing...not Just Light Snow But Full On Winter Wonderland Snow. It Was A Sight To See But All I Could Think Of Was What Was Going On At The Venue. As We Passed Truckee The Snow Began To Dissipate And Everything Started To Feel Fresh And New. As We Got To The Venue The Rain Had Stopped But The Grass Was Soaking Wet. The Staff At The Venue Were Working Hard To Make The Ceremony Area Perfectly Ready For The Couple. Everyone’s Feet Were Soaking Wet But It Didn’t Stop Anyone From Creating Magic For These Two. We Loved Being A Part Of Their Beautiful Day. @emilystarpoole Did Such A Great Job With The Photos, You Would Never Know The Challenges Behind The Scenes.
