I Know It's The Middle Of Summer, So Why In The World Am I Showing Winter Photos? I Actually Love Shooting In The Winter. My Favourite Time To Be At @emeraldlakelodge Is When It's Full Of Snow. For The This Elopement, The Ceremony Was Supposed To Be At The Viewpoint... But There Was No View And The Snow Was So High There Was Nowhere For Me To Stand For Me To Be Able To See Them... So I Picked This Spot In Front Of The Cabin With A Snow Covered Tree Making An Arch And That's Where We Did The Ceremony! When You Don't Have Guests & Are Truly Eloping, There's So Many Options! This Is One Of My Favourite Ceremonies From Emerald Lake!⁠ ⁠ Are You Thinking About A Winter Wedding? I'd Love To Be The One To Freeze With You & Make Some Snowy Magic!

Do You Love Blue Hour Too? It's One Of The Only Times I'll Use Flashes Outside. I Love The Crazy Blue Colour That The Background And Sky Turns When You Add Light. I Also Love It Without Adding Light. It's Truly A Magical Time Of Day!

I Had Spied This Spot When I Was Driving On The Highway Last Week & Filed It Away As A Spot I Wanted To Try To Shoot At. From Above I Thought The Water Was A Puddle... Turns Out It Was A Freezing Cold Mountain Stream... But Anyway.⁠ ⁠ After Kim & Dan's Ceremony & Photos At Peyto, We Were Headed To Bow Lake & I Really Just Wanted To Do Photos Here... So We Pulled Off On The Side Of The Highway & Went Down The Bank. I Got Them Over On The Rocky Area With The Wildflowers And I Looked At The Puddle... And Realized It Was Pretty Deep. I Was Hell Bent On Getting That Reflection Though.⁠ ⁠ So I Took Off My Hiking Boots & Socks, Rolled My Pants Up As High As I Could And Stepped Into That Freezing Mountain Stream To My Knees. Then I Felt The Slick, Goopy Muck That Was Lining The Bottom Of The Stream Squish Through My Toes And Go Up To My Ankles. Yuck. I Waded Out Slowly Since It Was Slippery And Found A Spot Where I Could Get The Reflection & We Waited A Little For My Steps To Be Erased From The Surface.⁠ ⁠ Then We Got Magic! Like Whole Bunches Of Magic! I'm So Happy Kim & Dan Were Ok To Climb Down Into Essentially What Was Another Ditch To Let Me Take This Photo! ⁠ ⁠ Sometimes The Spots That I Want To Take You Seem A Little Weird Or Iffy, But I Swear Its Only To Be Able To Create Something This Amazing For You.⁠ ⁠ And I'm Still Cleaning Mud Out From Between My Toes... That Stuff Was Like Super Glue.

Driving To Lake Louise Yesterday, The Rain Was Coming Down Pretty Hard. I Was Thinking It Was Going To Be Another Day Of Battling The Rain. But The Weather Gods Smiled On Laura & Nick For Their Elopement Yesterday.⁠ ⁠ We Had Low Clouds & Brightness Of The Sun Trying To Fight Through... My Favourite Weather. It Was Chillier & That Kept People Away So Lake Louise Wasn't Too Crazy Busy For Their Ceremony!⁠ ⁠ After Wandering The Shores Of The Lake For A While, It Started To Sprinkle So We Headed Off To Emerald Lake For Canoe Photos. We Were Blessed With Magical Clouds & Still Waters... And The Best Part Was That Emerald Lake Wasn't Busy Either! Although, That Didn't Stop The Small Group Of People There From Frantically Taking Photos Of Laura & Nick During Our Portrait Session!⁠ ⁠ After Leaving The Lake, We Stopped To Play In The Road To Get Some Epic Car Photos (cause Look At That Car!!)... Again Luck Was On Our Side Because Traffic Was Light! What A Fantastic Day We Had!
