Casa Romantica Was Built In 1927 As The Family Home Of Ole Hanson, The Founder Of The City Of San Clemente. Ole Hanson Was An Ambitious And Enterprising Individual Who Rose From Humble Beginnings In Wisconsin To Become A Lawyer, A Grocer, The Mayor Of Seattle (1918-19), And A Land Developer. When Financier Hamilton Cotton Purchased 2,000 Acres Of Land Then Known As The Rancho Boca De La Playa In 1923, He Recruited Hanson To Plan A ‘spanish Village By The Sea.’ The Resort-style Community He Developed Was Characterized By Its Striking Spanish Colonial-revival Architecture, With His Own Blufftop Mansion As The Cornerstone Model. So A While Back I Posted A Casting Call For Lgbtq+ Couples (if I Missed Anything, I'm Sorry!!) Because I Had Received An Email From A Couple Wondering If I Was Ok With Photographing Them. I Never Even Thought About It, But It Made Me Sad That Some People Thought They Had To Ask If I Was Willing. Of Course I Am Willing. I Don't Care Who You Love, I'm Just Happy That You Found Someone To Love & To Love You Back. So After That I Decided I Needed To Make A Point Of Showing More Types Of Couples On My Website So That People Wouldn't Have To Ask.
Things Got Crazy Busy And I Haven't Been Able To Fit Any Of Those Sessions In With My Travel Schedule, But Alyssa & Jenny Were One Of The First Couples I Made Plans To Shoot With & Since They Were Going To Be In The Mountains For Their Honeymoon (they Were Married On Saturday In Edmonton, Give Them A Big Congratulations), It Worked Out That I Would Be Able To Do Photos With Them! I'm Still Trying To Figure Out How & When To Fit In A Few Of The Other Sessions, But It's Going To Take Me A Few Months!
Anyway, These Two Got Dressed Up Again & We Ventured Out To Peyto Lake To Do Photos. I Had A Great Time With Them (and Seriously Hoping There's No Grudges For What I Made Them Hike In Wedding Clothes Haha) & I Am Truly In Love With Their Photos! This One Especially! It Is Epic On So Many Levels!
I Really Want To Thank Them For Taking The Time To Do This With Me When They Could Have Been Having An Easy Day On Their Honeymoon Haha

Everyone Knows #morainelake, #lakelouise & #peytolake Since They've Become #instafamous, But There Is So Much More To Banff National Park Than The Epic Blue-green Waters. Those Well Known Places Are Beautiful, But They Are Buuuuuuuuusy!
I Heard That Parks Canada Closed The Highway Access Yesterday To Lake Louise At 2:30 Pm. I'm Lucky I'm Always Early And Got In At 2:15 Pm. The Traffic Was Bumper-to-bumper Heading Up To Lake Louise & Moraine Lake. It Was The Busiest I've Ever Seen It. In The Middle Of All That, We Were Doing Victoria & Charles' Wedding Photos. We Battled It Out To Get Into Moraine, Climbed The Rock Pile & Shot In Crazy Sun.
After That We Headed Up Icefields Parkway & Went To Peyto... We Pretty Much Had The Upper Viewpoint All To Ourselves With Amazing Light... It's All About Timing. After That We Headed To Bow Lake... But With A Quick Stop On The Road To Get A Few Photos... And Then I Took Them Down Into The Ditch.
Yup, This Is A Ditch Right Beside The Highway In Banff National Park & I Think It's Epic. The Best Part? We Had It All To Ourselves!

Bow Lake. On The Icefields Parkway. Highly Underrated For Photos. This Spot Is Amazing!
You Get Incredible Light At Sunset. You Aren't Elbow To Elbow With Tons Of Other People Like You Are At Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, Emerald Lake Or Peyto Lake. It's A Great Spot If You're A Bit On The Shy-er Side.
It's Quiet & Peaceful. It's A Great Place For A Picnic! You Don't Have To Hike Up Steep Inclines. You Can Run Around & Be Playful And Not Worry About Breaking Bones.
There Are Epic Mountain Views & The Wildflowers Here Are Gorgeous!
There's Also A Really Pretty Lake If You're Into That Blue/green Mountain Water Thing.

Friday Was The Day For Epic Reflections. Seriously. Everything Was So Perfectly Still. There Were Mirror Reflections Everywhere.
Kristen & Will Had Originally Planned To Get Married At Lake Louise & Go To Moraine Lake For Photos After. Then They Visited There Earlier In The Week And Saw What A Nuthouse It Could Be... And We Did A Location Change To Spray Lakes! I Couldn't Have Been Happier! We Had An Epic Location All To Ourselves For Their Ceremony With Both Sets Of Their Parents Witnessing, It Really Was Perfect!
Once The Ceremony Was Done And The Wine Was Drunk, We Sent Everyone Else Back Down The Mountain To Canmore While We Wandered For Photos. Truly Amazing Day!!
