We Hiked A Few Miles Through A Gorgeous, Lush Pine-tree Forest! As We Reached The End Of The Trail, The Dense Trees Suddenly Opened Up To This View. It's Been A Bit Slow Around Here For The Last Few Months. I Kind Of Did That Deliberately To Give Me Time Off To Get Ready To Sell Our House, To Finally Move Closer To The Mountains, To Try To Get A Little Bit Of Life Back & To Have Some Downtime. The World Is A Funny Thing & It's Given Us All A Lot Of Downtime. I Am Sad Because We Likely Have To Pull Our House Off The Market, Who Is Looking At Buying Houses Right Now, Seriously? That's Going To Slow Our Plans To Move Away From Edmonton, Who Knows For How Long. We Will Be Bringing The Kitties Back Home From Boarding & I Am Truly Happy For That Because We Miss Them So Much. It's Not Home Without Them Here. I Haven't Been Sleeping Much Lately, So Many Scenarios Are Running Through My Mind & I Like To Build Plans. Yesterday's Elopement In Banff With Erin & Crystal & Just A Few Close Family Was Exactly What I Needed. I Think It's Something We All Needed. It Was A Great Time Even Though The Mountains Didn't Disappoint With Psychotic Weather That Changed A Few Times In A Matter Of Hours. And Don't Worry About Social Distancing... I Tend To Shoot Far Away & I Warn You When I Am Coming Close & I Don't Stay There For Long, So We Were All A-ok! When Couples Say They Want A Winter Wonderland Either For Their Wedding Or For A Portrait Session, My First Suggestion Is Lake Louise! Emerald Lake Is Close Second. It's Pretty Much A Guaranteed Winter Wonderland From November To May, Whereas Banff Or Canmore Tends To Have Way Less Snow & Can Be A Little Unpredictable In How Wintery It Will Look.⁠ ⁠ Lake Louise Can Be Tricky With The Weather. The Snow We Had Yesterday Was Unrelenting. It Was Warmer Too, So It Was Wet Snow That Just Soaked Through Everything. But It Looked Freaking Magical. It's Hard To Shoot In, My Cameras Had A Layer Of Ice On Them At One Point, But I'd Rather Be Soaked, Frozen & Struggling To Focus So That We Can Shoot In Something That Looks This Amazing Then Go For Inside. You Don't Go To The Mountains For Photos Inside, Or At Least, You Don't If You End Up Shooting With Me! We Suffer The Elements Together To Make Something Truly Remarkable For You That Shows Off The Glory Of Nature, No Matter What It Throws At Us!⁠ ⁠ The Crazy Snow Would Not Give Us Mountain Views, But I Found This Great Spot In The Trees With A Natural Arch For The Ceremony.
