Yesterday Was Kind Of A Big Day For Me. It Marked The 12 Year Anniversary Of When I Decided To Make A Real Thing Of This Photography Business & Env Photography Was Born. I Look Back Over The Past 12 Years & Boy Has My Style Changed. I Used To Be All About Industrial, Urban & Grungy; Hated The Idea Of Shooting In Nature. Over Time I've Found What Makes Me Happy & Yesterday's Heli-elopement Is Everything I Dream Of Now!⁠ ⁠ I Got Over My Fear Of Helicopters (thanks Sara & Devin!!) & Spent The Evening Being Eaten Alive By Mosquitos In The Most Beautiful Places With Even Awesomer People. Yesterday's Elopement With Nikia & Jonathan (and Really How I've Been Spending Most Of This Year Is Exactly Where I Want To Be) Has Me Excited To See What The Future Brings! Elopements & Intimate Weddings In The Mountains & In The Great Outdoors In General Is Truly What I Love!⁠ ⁠ Now, Enough About Me. Let's Just Ogle Nikia & Jonathan, Be A Little Jealous Of How Amazing Their Wedding Day Was & Pass Along Wishes That Their Mosquito Bites Don't Burn & Itch Halfway As Much As Mine Do!

Newly Engaged & Feeling On Top Of The World! Ugh, Such A Bad Pun. Shame On Me. I Couldn't Resist Though! Please Don't Hold It Against Me! Taylor & I Had Been Conspiring By Email For A Few Weeks... She Thought That Dan Was Going To Propose On Their Trip To Banff & Really Wanted To Do Engagement Photos Here. We Finally Decided That If He Did Pop The Question To Get In Touch And We'd Make The Session Happen. If He Didn't, Then We Would Do Photo & Dan Would Be In The Doghouse For Quite Some Time. ⁠ ⁠ Luckily Dan Came Through & Proposed On Thursday! I Got An Excited E-mail From Taylor & We Put The Plan Into Action For Their Engagement Photos Last Night!⁠ ⁠ Our Plan Was To Go To Moraine Lake But The Road Was Closed (had Been Closed For An Hour & A Half At That Point & We Didn't Know How Much Longer) Due To A Climbing Accident On The Rockpile & Emergency Crews Needed Full Access. So I Suggested We Head To Peyto (it's Only Open For Another Week & A Half) And We Had The Best Time There, Pretty Much Having The Upper Viewpoint All To Ourselves.⁠ ⁠ When The Rain & Thunder Started To Roll In, We Left And Headed To Bow Lake Wheere It Go Super Chilly, But Was Just Beautiful. I Had Then Hopping Over The Dream To Get The Reflections I Adore (check Out Their Jump Shots... Call Me Crazy (i've Been Called Worse Than That!), But In The Afternoon Before Isis & Nick's Elopement At Moraine Lake On Tuesday, I Met Up With Hailee & Tom For Their Engagement Session!⁠ ⁠ Things Could Have Gone Terribly Wrong Since The Shuttle In Was Going To Take Two Hours To Get On & I Had No Service When I Was Out There To Know They Couldn't Get There, But Luck Was On Their Side When The Nice Parks People At The Gate Let Them In! Moraine Lake Is Gorgeous But It's A Hard Spot To Plan For Photos! You Just Never Know If You'll Be Able To Get In!⁠ ⁠ We'd Also Been Chatting About Photos For A While & It Turns Out Tom Popped The Big Question On Friday So Their Session Ended Up Being An Engagement! And How About The Fact That Tom Is Just Holding Hailee In This Carry/dip Like It Takes No Effort At All???

My First Time Shooting At Waterfowl Lakes & We Got The Magical Light As The Sun Was Setting Behind The Mountains. It Was The Perfect Way To End The Day With Nikia & Jonathan!⁠ ⁠ My Favourite Part Of Elopements Is That We Can Plan To Shoot With The Best Light Because You Aren't Worried About Making Your Guests Wait For Dinner (although Poor Jonathan Was Starving At This Point Haha). We Gte To Plan The Day Around Getting You The Best Pictures Possible While Having The Best Time Ever!

This Is A Fun Pose To Do. The Couple Is Always A Bit Taken Back When I Ask The The Guy To Lay On The Ground Facing Me. When I Ask The Girl, To Say On Top Of Him They Really Think I'm Making This Up On The Fly. Then The Girl On Top Needs To Slide Up His Back So Their Heads Are Parallel With Each Other.
