ABOUT MY CARICATURE WORK:
I've been doing quick-sketch caricatures professionally for over 20 years now (since 1992)!
I bring my own equipment. All I need is 2-3 chairs and a small space to set up.
I draw black and white caricatures for parties, head & shoulders.
My timing rate is 3-5 minutes per person, so I can draw anywhere from 15-20 people per hour.
MY CARICATURE HISTORY:
I have been doing caricatures professionally since summer of 1992. I started working for Kaman's Art Shoppes at Carowinds, in Charlotte, NC. Every summer during my college years, this was my job. It was wonderful.
When I finally graduated in 1996, I started working at Geauga Lake for the first summer, and then worked at a mall kiosk for about four months. That was the last time I worked for someone else doing caricatures.
I have set up my own stand at various local fairs and festivals annually:
In Cleveland, Ohio: The Hessler Street Fair, two different church festivals, and the American Greetings Holiday Art Show.
In Monroe, North Carolina: The Blooming Arts Festival.
My stand used to be called "Carrick-a-Tures" before I married, making fun use of my maiden name, Carrick.
I have also quite a client list, including The Cleveland Cavaliers (I drew for their Christmas party one year), The Free Clinic (for charity), Westfield Shopping Center (Southpark Mall's annual Breakfasts w/ Santa and Easter Bunny), as well as several private parties I've done for kids and adults.
Wendy went above and beyond at our wedding to make our guests happy. She was friendly, efficient, and everyone loved their pictures! I would highly recommend.
