At 16 years old, we began dating after mutual friends introduced us at a birthday party. After a few months of dating, we broke up, but remained extremely close friends for the next 8 years- going to Prom together, visits during college, parties, concerts, millions of phone calls/texts/dinner plans, and a trip to Buffalo for a Red Wings game. In April of 2011, we met for dinner and a movie and started spending almost every day talking or going out to eat. We finally started dating again- spending time with friends, at Lions games, concert going, and eventually moving into a condo in Ann Arbor together.

Danielle had been leaving subtle hints about an engagement- photos left up on the laptop of rings, telling the dog, Gizmo, "Daddy doesn't want to marry us!", and other ridiculous things to get Mike's mind working. December 13th, 2012 was the ten year anniversary of the first time we started dating back in High School. We both came home from work, put on pjs and were laying around. Mike kept trying to get the dog to follow him, and finally took him outside. When he came back in- Danielle was in the kitchen starting to cook dinner and Mike kept insisting to her to "look at the dog". She glanced down said "Yep. That's the dog.", and continued about cooking. After a few more times of being told to look at the dog, Danielle got fed up and went to get the dog a treat, thinking that's what he needed. She turned around inside the pantry and found Mike holding up the dog who had a ring attached to his collar. Danielle said "If this is a joke, then it's not funny!", to which Mike told her that it wasn't, and asked her to marry him. She said yes and they began excitedly making phone calls, and drinking champagne. <3
