Some weddings don’t just make a statement — they redefine what luxury destination weddings can be.
Stephen and Anup’s celebration in the heart of the Riviera Maya was a stunning fusion of modern design, cultural heritage, and unapologetic style, unfolding across two of the most exclusive venues in Mexico: the Edition Pier at Kanai for the ceremony, and the iconic Ceiba Tree at the St. Regis Kanai for the reception.
Flying in from New York with their 40 closest guests, the couple created an atmosphere that was both intimate and unforgettable. The ceremony took place on the famed wooden pier of the Edition resort, with the Caribbean Sea as their backdrop and a live string quartet setting the tone.
Anup’s Hindu roots were subtly and beautifully honored: a transparent geometric arch evoked the sacred lines of a traditional mandap, while white and red florals — suspended from above — framed the couple as they exchanged garlands in a symbolic nod to their heritage.
As the sun set, the celebration moved to the majestic Ceiba tree at the St. Regis Kanai. There, the mood shifted into something sleek and theatrical. A single semicircular table in deep black anchored the reception space, dressed with black plates, flatware, napkins, and candles, and punctuated by round centerpieces of red and white roses.
Above them, twinkling lights fell from the branches, casting a dreamlike glow over the black-and-white checkered dance floor and the striking circular black bar — a centerpiece of its own. The entertainment was bold and unexpected: rosé-costumed dancers with enormous red rose heads greeted guests during cocktail hour, while silver tiger performers electrified the dancefloor later in the night.
And when the music started… everyone danced.
