5 Reasons To Elope This Year

2020 was one for the history books, to say the least. Covid has changed events for the foreseeable future, and there are so many captivating reasons to just forget the big wedding and elope! While some grow up dreaming of their wedding day as a big magical celebration, there are others who choose to have an elopement.

When most people think of eloping, they think of that white chapel in Viva Las Vegas or City Hall. Those are great places to elope, but we’re talking about a helipad elopement, or eloping on top of a mountain! In 2021, you will see a rise in Elopement ceremonies (especially the Millennials!).

So without further ado, here are five reasons to elope.

1. Weddings are expensive!

The average cost of a wedding in 2019 was $30,000. That amount is a bit hefty if you and your partner are paying for the whole wedding. That is almost equivalent to a year of college tuition!

Don’t get me wrong, I do love planning big weddings (they are my favorite), but because of the Covid restrictions that have been put in place, it’s not going to be easy getting married, with a guest count of 100+ this year.

On the other hand, elopements are typically significantly cheaper than the average wedding. The pricing often varies, but Jillian Nicole Events is able to offer an entire ceremony and reception package at a reasonable price.

2. Elopements can be a lot more personal and unique than the average wedding.

First of all, you can practically elope anywhere as long as you have a planner to coordinate and a witness/officiant to administer the ceremony.

We had this couple that wanted to get married with a view, so what better way to get married than on a helipad?! It allowed the couple to have an intimate and unique ceremony, without all the family drama.

3. A Fun Adventurous Wedding Day!

When you elope, you get to experience an adventure with your loved one. It can be a long day, hiking to the top of a mountain and saying vows on the top of Runyon Canyon.

Or it can be a relaxing day in the presidential suite, sipping on some champagne and writing your vows together.

4. Private Dining Experience

A typical wedding would require so much planning and logistics, where an elopement still needs some planning, but let your wedding planner handle all that for you!

Instead of having a reception with 100+ people, revert to having an intimate dinner with your hubby-to-be. A customized meal, with a personalized playlist and a glass of champagne, is the way to go.
