Avon Old Farms Hotel Wedding

Kaylah & Alex's Avon Old Farms Hotel wedding was like a dream! They were married in October, on a gorgeous day and with an atmosphere that all intimate weddings have - a reverence for the love they shared and being with the people who matter most to them.

The day started with Kaylah, her mother, sister and grandmother all getting ready together in the bridal suite. Kaylah wanted to feel like a fairy goddess, and her ethereal dress and the decadent bouquet and flower crown for sure gave her that look.

A detail that was prominent throughout the wedding day was the arrow motif. Arrows are a significant symbol to Kaylah and Alex, so they wanted to include it in as many places as possible, one of which was the rose gold arrow necklace Alex gifted to Kaylah for her to wear on the wedding day.

All through their wedding planning Kaylah and Alex thought they didn't want to do a First Look. But then at the last minute they decided that they would and they were so glad! Not only did taking photos beforehand open up more time for them to mingle with guests during cocktail hour, but they also both felt much more relaxed and prepared going into the ceremony.

Kaylah & Alex's ceremony was magical. It was held in the upper garden of the Avon Old Farms Hotel underneath a massive wisteria pergola. Kaylah had her sister as her Maid of Honor and Alex had his best friend since grade school as his Best Man.

Something that was really cute during the ceremony was that both Kaylah and Alex had written "I promise to always see Star Wars with you" into their vows to each other without knowing that the other one had done it. So the entire crowd of guests burst out laughing.

After the ceremony and portraits were done, it was time to PARTAY! Kaylah and Alex kept the ceremonies of the reception pretty light and low key, with a first dance, toasts and a cake cutting.
