Every couple and wedding is a unique and beautiful expression of love. By embracing personalization, storytelling, and celebrating diversity, couples can create a truly unforgettable experience that reflects their individuality and the depth of their connection. Each couple brings their own unique personalities, stories, and dreams to the table, creating a celebration that is as individual as they are.
This couple was no different. Lydia and Chris was so much fun, they wanted to be themselves. They love travel, adventure but most of all they love each other. I wanted to tell their story like that.Planning out first the engagement shoot to friendship. With their love of travel we took to the Yale Museum of Art and The Greenbrier Greenhouse at Edgerton Park both in New Haven,CT.
We planned a lovely outdoor shoot at both locations but had to rearrange our plans because of the weather... it poured !! Yes, it poured and we embraced every bit of it. After many conversations and 7 months we arrive on the Big day. We talked and planned out the whole day. Our initial plan to do the first look at the Hartford City Hall fell though for what ever reason. We searched for a place that would not be too busy seeing that the date fell on a Friday.
We opted for Elizabeth Park in Hartford, CT. I did let Lydia and Chris know that the park is a known destination for wedding and engagement photography, so we may encounter other wedding parties. We lucked out, we were the only ones there. It was a beautiful sunny day and we took advantage of it. As I walked the grounds I chose the spots to take pictures of the couple, bridal party and individual image.
The Society Room of Hartford was the venue for the wedding and reception. The venue is naturally dark because it was originally being home to the former Society for Savings Bank built in 1834. I have photographed many wedding there so I knew I needed to be prepared for the dark setting. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and not a dry eye in the building ... Thanks Chris!!
I love when the couples add a bit of themselves to a wedding day to make it unique. Lydia and Chris decided to add in a Ramen Bar which was so very well put together. I had a ball at this weeding and we say congratulations to this gorgeous couple !!!
