Mod Summer Wedding Inspiration At Bonnycastle Garden

To encourage couples to get creative in their planning of intimate weddings, we took a modern, light and fresh approach to the design of this styled wedding. We contrasted clean, mod lines with the historic site of Bonnycastle Garden and Upper Fort Garry (Manitoba Club), choosing a simple white linen and chair combination, and adding in moments of soft pink and gentle pops of colour to awaken the design.

An almost-minimalist tablescape includes arching pink anthurium, adding height and dimension, anchored by fuller floral arrangements including cappuccino and quicksand roses, and locally Manitoba grown asters, poppies, lisianthus and zinnias. Carefully layered place settings are a favourite design detail, with these combining a grey dinner plate and ridge green salad plate, simply folded rose napkins with an asymmetrically positioned menu popping from underneath, and custom-lasered tiles serving as place cards.

To enhance the intimate atmosphere of a smaller wedding, a styled lounge space is a must-have. It provides space for quiet moments between the couple, and a private first dance on the cobblestones. We wanted to reinforce the design scheme here, treating the space to its own floral moment as well.
