In Diana Romo Weddings we are a group of experiential planners, incredibly passionate about what we do, but also about the whole aesthetic of our events and our clients’ experiences from start to finish. Everything we do is very organic, nothing cookie-cutter/out of the box. We blend the client with the site/venue that’s been chosen. We consider ourselves GLAM, ORGANIC, EFFORTLESS and NATURAL. We are best at BRINGING OUT THE CLIENT’S PERSONALITY and integrating it into your big day event. We use what we already have and make it better, improving upon it all the time. We use the venue as the inspiration and then integrate the client’s uniqueness into that space; manifesting your essence in an effortless way to create a very unique event every single time.Â
We’re honoured to work closely with our clients on of the most important milestones of their lives. You bring the love, and we’ll bring it to life for all your friends and family to see. Our true value lies in what cannot be seen – the ‘DRW Factor’ of a day that flows with ease, grace, style and fun – rife with all the right kinds of thoughtful details you never thought would bring you so much joy.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Diana Romo and her incredible team. When I first reached out to her over the summer, I had an ambitious request – to plan an elaborate destination wedding in just three and a half months. I knew the timeline was tight, but Diana reassured me from the start that she could make it happen. And she absolutely delivered!
From the beginning, Diana demonstrated an unparalleled attention to detail and a genuine passion for making my dream wedding come to life. She guided me seamlessly through each step, keeping me informed on where we were at every stage, offering thoughtful recommendations, and ensuring every choice felt aligned with my vision. Her network of vendors was outstanding, and every vendor she recommended added something special to our day. I felt confident in each choice we made together, and the result was nothing short of magical.
Diana also kept us organized and stress-free with regular budget updates and follow-ups, making the planning process feel manageable and smooth. Her right-hand woman, Karen, was just as phenomenal. Whenever Diana wasn’t available, Karen stepped in with complete control and professionalism, making me feel confident and supported in every decision. Karen’s ability to handle every detail with ease was a testament to the strength of Diana’s team. Planning a destination wedding in another country can be nerve-wrecking, but Diana and her team turned it into an extraordinary, enjoyable experience. They exceeded every expectation I had, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Diana Romo Weddings truly made my dream wedding a reality, and I am forever grateful for their dedication, expertise, and heartfelt care.
Working with Diana Romo and team was an amazing experience. They really made the wedding planning process so streamline and easy. They listened well and shared great ideas, locations and vendors with us to execute our wedding perfectly. They also took the time to get to know my husband and I, which really helped them nail the little details for each of our wedding events. I honestly can’t not say enough good things about this team. They were so fun and easy to work with and our wedding was an absolute dream come true.
We loved Diana the moment we had our first call. We knew we wanted our wedding in Playa del Carmen as that’s where we got engaged so we knew we needed someone to navigate the whole experience for us. We had asked a local friend for a few recommendations and Diana was one of them, after some quick research we picked Diana for an introductory call due to some past LGBTQ+ experience she had posted and that was it, we didn’t want to look further. In the end, Diana gave us a Dior-inspired, elegant yet Boho-chic wedding that incorporated the best parts of who we are as people and a couple making the wedding a reflection of us.
I’m a pragmatist, I know what I need and I cut straight to the point. During our first call with Diana she was enthusiastic, she had ideas but most of all she wanted to know about us. She wasn’t planning a wedding based on what’s expected or a template/blueprint of what’s expected, she was trying to plan the wedding of our dreams without us even knowing. Her approach is simple, get to know the happy couple and listen then apply what she knows. It’s a simple formula really and she delivered on it perfectly. Our wedding was even more magical than we could even dream of.
Diana’s magic isn’t just her passion for what she does and her creativity, her magic is how she figures you out. She takes elements of who you are and shapes these into tangible elements of a grand design. As an LGBTQ+ couple we were never going to be conventional, nor did we have a set mould to fit into, so we were always going to be different and do things our way. Diana and her team worked with us to make what we wanted a reality, she would take an idea, run with it, conceptualise a vision and then bring it to fruition seamlessly.
Like most non-creative people, it’s hard for me to be able to envisage different facets of a whole coming together. So when Diana took us round to pick venues, rentals, cakes, graphics, florals etc. we would pick what we thought looked good but we could never have envisaged what the whole looked like. It was like a mirage, a paradise that didn’t exist but in Diana’s case, it really did.
Diana doesn’t say “no”, she understands that it’s your wedding and so what you want you should get but what she does and will do is offer her thoughts and opinions or suggestions that would not just enhance what you wanted but take it to a different level. She of course will tell you that something is a bad idea too but she won’t want to stifle your creativity either so she knows how to have that conversation.
I can’t write enough about Diana to do her justice and I certainly couldn’t give you all the little things that she did for us that showed her attention to detail. Details that people at the wedding noticed but also those who we showed pictures and snippets to after the fact. Details where people would respond “you guys are so thoughtful and thought of everything”. Like at our welcome dinner, she took the color palette we had selected and created the scene but we nixed the center pieces to save on costs, so she managed to get little jars filled with sand and a tea light with some shells which looked stunning but the icing was that she took these little felt “double happiness” trinkets and spruced up the whole setting. This was important as we’re an inter-racial couple and so she took elements of one’s Chinese heritage and mashed it with the western settings. She did so in a way that was so seamless and that we hadn’t even thought about but was so meaningful. For the wedding day, I don’t even know where to start, picking the perfect spot for the ceremony and using the palm trees to frame the image was perfection. The seating chart that was unconventional but so personal and a feature unto itself. The lanterns above the dance floor where she knew exactly the sizes and colors of the lanterns that she wanted. There was not an element of the wedding that Diana had not thought of. She made the day completely stress free (actually the whole trip from the moment we arrived in Mexico from New York) and her team were there whenever we needed them and they knew where they needed to be at all times and plus, who wouldn’t want two beautiful people at there wedding.
The journey with Diana isn’t and shouldn’t be a transactional one. If you’re fortunate then this journey should really be a one-time event and Diana is the perfect person to have alongside you, she’s understands that this is not just a journey for the mind: plan this, do that, get to the end. It’s a journey of the heart fraught with all the ups and downs of emotions as you want to plan your perfect day. Diana and her team are supportive, they’re approachable and yes, they’re creativity and visionaries too but this is a journey where you don’t just need the perfect designer (which she is), you need a friend too. We had a magical dream wedding and it was amazing but what we also got were new friends. We can never thank Diana and her team enough for the memories she gave us, our families and our friends.
My husband and I would like to express our utmost gratitude for the opportunity to work with Diana and her team in planning and coordinating our wedding. From the very first Zoom meeting, it was evident that Diana and her team possessed an outstanding level of positivity and enthusiasm for their work.
Not only Diana’s level of positivity and enthusiasm but also her ability to understand what type of modern wedding we wanted to have. Her level of taste and understanding our design style was absolutely amazing. Seeing her portfolio of work definitely shows that and even exceeded what we were expecting.
As clients, we had specific and unconventional requests, and Diana did not hesitate in the slightest to execute them. Even when we presented a demand for a very specific type of performer that we believed might be too far-fetched, Diana found the perfect performer within a week. My husband and I were in shock and total excitement. We cannot forget to express our appreciation for her exemplary service.
At the early stages of working with Diana and team, we were somewhat anxious about getting married abroad without substantial influence over the proceedings. However, Diana's efforts to take care of everything extinguished all our anxieties and ensured our adherence to the budget. As for specifics we were unsure about, Diana had us covered. After the wedding, we're immensely thankful that she went above and beyond her duties as our wedding planner and is now regarded her and the team as friends.
We had the pleasure of working with Diana and her team over the past year and the experience was nothing short of amazing. I'm a fashion designer myself, so I had very specific ideas of what I wanted in the design and feel of my wedding day and Diana completely captured my vision. We wanted a dark, moody, and romantic feel with a tarot/"til death do us part" theme. Every detail was stunning - from the tarot card seating cards, and breathtaking florals, to the dripping candles - every element was placed with intention and care. Our wedding wasn't just another wedding reception - it was an event. If you are thinking about a wedding in the Riveria Maya, she is the planner you NEED. She has all the connections to the best venues and vendors and her team is incredibly organized and easy to communicate with. I also want to add that Diana is just an all-around awesome human being - warm, down to earth, and honest. We're sad our time working together has come to an end...who knows maybe we'll do a vow renewal one day!
If Diana Romo left wedding planning to run a Fortune 500 company, I wouldn't be surprised. She was one of the most kind and professional people i've had to work with and we have zero regrets hiring her as our wedding planner.
My wedding was the best day of my life and that was in no small part thanks to her.
My husband and I got some of the worst food poisoning we've ever experienced prior to our wedding. Seriously, we thought we were going die. Diana managed to get an IV sent to our villa the Rosewood before our Rehearsal Dinner and it brought us back to life. This just one example of how Diana goes above and beyond for her clients.
Another Diana moment, I won't forget, was when we asked Diana if we could switch the venue where we were getting married, ONE DAY before getting married. There wasn't even the slightest hesitation, she just made it happen.
Thank you Diana and Karen for all your support during our wedding. You both made this a stress free day for us.
