I was actually a part of a wedding here last month. While the venue owners honestly seemed very nice, we showed up the day of the wedding with the venue not having been made ready for the wedding. 5 hours before the wedding, heaters had not been turned on, there was only one working bathroom, members of the wedding party and family had to clean up the venue from Christmas decor that had been left out, and also had to decorate for the wedding. Absolutely nothing was set up as promised.

Additionally, there was a dead roach on the floor in the bridal suite as soon as I walked in. While I understand that this is the country and bugs can oftentimes find their feet in the air in random places that we do not care to see them, this one had happily made his home in an area among dust. So therefore, I can tell you with certainty that this place does not do the "COVID cleaning" that they are charging all of their brides for. Also, there were these odd-looking gel-filled wine glasses sitting on the table for decor. Well, it was more of an appetite suppressant, since there was a layer of dust and various bug carcasses laying on top. So in order for us to enjoy our day and not vomit all over the pretty white couch, I moved these as far away from our activities as possible.

The wedding coordinator that the venue owners pushed the bride to use for nearly $1k had committed to showing up at the venue at 10am. However, she did not show up until 1pm, and felt like she could come into the bridal suite and (kindly) demand that we all go do our rehearsal. What are bridal parties usually doing 2-3 hours prior to a wedding, I might ask? She wanted us to stop all hair, makeup and photographic events to rehearse... because she was late and hadn't informed anyone that she would be 3 hours late. Also, I should mention her name is Marissa Reinmund.

Gabriel Porter (who has left reviews on various sites) is actually the owner's son and DJ that they do push all customers to use. Also, he lives on the property, in the actual "groom's quarters."

Now don't get me wrong, the venue was set in a very serene location. And the owners were nice to me that day. However, I just feel like they could have been a bit more professional. There was some uncomfortable gossip going back and forth during the day about the wedding party and family that we overheard; and later, the venue owner sent a text that was meant for her husband to the bride, referring to the bride in the slur term for a female dog. I was very disappointed, to be honest. I feel like they could do a lot better at being professional and honest with their couples, and hope to see that in the future.

Angelica and Todd, the owners, were absolutely lovely through the booking and touring. I had all the faith in the world that my special day was going to be fabulous.
But then the day came...
My family, friends, photographer, and even guests were working all morning make the venue ready. We were taking down Christmas decorations, cleaning, setting up tables, and doing all the work the venue said that they were going to do. My father was even gathering branches off the path down to the ceremony to be usable. They were burning trash and sticks and a bonfire just to get rid of it all in time. Their coordinator did not even show up until 1 PM when she told all of my vendors and me that she was going to be there at 10 AM to help with set up and give direction. She was entirely unhelpful and disorganized the entire time . The groom's quarters, linens, event space, refrigerators, and grounds were in such bad shape that some of it was unusable . The smells coming from the refrigerators were so bad that we couldn't use them. The groom's quarters had empty bottles, rotten food, dishes in the sink, and laundry on the floor. We had paid extra for a COVID cleanse, which was required, but it was clear that the venue had not been cleaned at all . When my mother asked about hand sanitizer, the owner shrugged and said that she would get hand sanitizer if she had to. My mom ended up doing it anyway. The whole day we could hear the owner's trash talking us and telling us that they wished they had canceled our wedding. Mind you, we had to reschedule our wedding from November because we had COVID and were charged $500 to do so. The whole day was shrouded by nothing but negativity from the owners and they were completely unhelpful. They were heard multiple times bad mouthing us and were shoving us out of the venue by 8 PM even though we had the venue space until 11 PM. Also , we hired the son of the owner to be our DJ because he was suggested. We painstakingly put in a lot of time to create playlists for our ceremony, reception, and the dancing portion of the wedding. Instead, the DJ chose to play his own music, some of which was inappropriate songs for children since we had a lot of my nieces and nephews there that were under the age of 12. I tried to just keep swallowing all of these things because I just wanted to have a great wedding day and not confront it at the time, though my husband did go over and talk to the DJ and asked him if he still had a playlist and he said yes . We later found out that my niece asked the DJ to play one of the songs that was on our playlist and the DJ told her no . The whole day, the owners and the staff members that we hired simply did whatever they wanted to do and did not lift a finger to help us or try to give us the services that we paid for. I will say that the bartenders were outstanding and incredibly kind. Two days after the wedding, I implored them about our security deposit, as it was not returned within the 24 hours, as was in the contract. Angelica, the owner, asked me if I had a great time at the wedding, and I expressed some concerns. She then went to forward my message to her husband, Todd. She made a huge error in her texting abilities because she responded to me "from the bitch… FYI". When this came back to me, I was 100% sure that all of the things people have been telling me all day about her bad mouthing me and my bridesmaids and my family were hundred percent true. We have sought legal counsel.
