I've had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember; I used it like a pocket journal of sorts and photographed constantly while growing up in Hawai'i. I fell into weddings when my dad remarried in 2013, and I remember being caught off guard by the swirl of emotions I felt standing at the edge of a new beginning. Turning those feelings into tangible memories was the only thing that made sense. I moved to New York City to refine my skillset and took a detour into the fashion industry before receiving my Bachelor's in photography from NYU. In 2017, I married my high school sweetheart, relocated to Seattle, and decided to pursue weddings full time. I realized that I loved bearing witness to what happens at weddings — the camera allows me access into some of life's most celebratory moments, as well as the quiet, intimate spaces shared with those closest. Articulating these experiences into photographs and helping people tell their story is deeply rewarding for me; it feels like what I was always meant to do. Connecting with incredible, like-minded people & working other creatives as a result of all this has been just as rich.
I am based in Seattle and work frequently in Hawai'i & New York City. Traveling provides me with renewed energy and fresh inspiration, so I take every opportunity to do so! Upcoming destinations: Isle of Skye, Scotland, San Juan Capistrano, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Santa Fe, NM, Pittsburgh, PA. Past destinations: Colima, Mexico, Beaune, France, Cartagena, Colombia, Sonoma Valley & Santa Barbara, CA, Grand Rapids, MI, Berkshires, MA.
Natalie was an invaluable resource, her experience and expertise made for such a smooth and enjoyable experience. We are very happy with how our engagement and wedding photos turned out, the proof is in the end product. Couldn't recommend her more!
I'm not sure how we can properly convey how much we appreciate and admire her work! Natalie is your ideal choice if you're looking for a natural, romantic, timeless and documentary style for your wedding photography. She captured the day so well, and we truly feel like we get to relive our special day looking through our album. Her professionalism and communication was also top-notch, and we are so grateful to have her as a trusted partner throughout the wedding planning journey. And in addition to the beautiful photos we get to cherish forever, we simply enjoyed our time together – she's so approachable, kind and sweet! Thank you so much, Natalie!
Natalie's photography speaks for itself. She is truly SO good at what she does. We found Natalie through our Day of Coordinator/Florist. We had an initial meeting with her to discuss what we had in mind and we immediately fell in love with her! We were able to relate on so many levels and knew we could feel comfortable and give her full reign for our intimate wedding. We had our wedding at Canlis and felt a little nervous about the lighting in the room we rented out, but the photos turned out absolutely AMAZING.
We really liked Natalie from our very first email communication and zoom meeting. She is so likeable, genuine, and friendly! She made us feel comfortable when we had our engagement photos done and had a very quick turnaround time for the photos. For our wedding though -- Natalie brought her A game!! We had already liked our engagement photos but we LOVE our wedding photos. They turned out even better than we could have ever imagined! Natalie was great on the days/weeks leading up to the wedding with planning a timeline and was awesome on the day of the wedding. She gave us just enough direction to ensure that our photos turned out great yet were natural. I love that she photographs with different mediums (film, digital, and a cool old school camera). Natalie is very organized and also responds to emails very quickly. She also gave us previews of our wedding photos at 8am the next day! Her prices are very reasonable and completely worth the investment. We would recommend Natalie to any of our family and friends and will definitely be using her for more photo sessions in the future.
Without a doubt, Natalie was the best 'purchase' of our wedding. We hummed and hawwed for months about whether or not to get a photographer - everyone has an iPhone right? They take pretty good shots. And a photographer makes up a significant portion of the budget. We were so very wrong on all counts. Every time I look through both our engagement shoot, and our wedding, I get teary. She has managed to capture the very essense of us, our emotions, our personalities and all of the special moments that made up the day. In the end we asked everyone to put away their phones and let Natalie and her amazing co-pilot husband Conor, do their work. Which they did beautifully.
Natalie is an NYU trained photographer - her photographs are a mixture of fine art, portrait and breathtaking scenic shots. There's no WAY you can capture the heart of a day without a professional, and even some of those don't manage to get it right. Natalie does it all with a laugh, a smile, and an ability to make everyone feel at ease. Nearly every one of our guests commented on how much they liked our photographer - she made them feel at ease and was never intrusive or rude, like many photographers can be to guests. On this point, it was also important to us that we got shots of everyone having fun at the wedding - we didn't want to end up with 800 photos of just the two of us, like so many portfolio wedding albums we saw. Natalie and Conor made sure that they covered everything - we have photos of all of our loved ones enjoying themselves. We love it!
Finally, in terms of support, Natalie is incredibly responsive, able to work to both a timeline and a direction, and her edits are speedy and beautiful. We made a life-long friend in Natalie and know that we will be hiring her again to capture all of life's most important moments. We cannot thank, or recommend her enough. Now, stop debating and get in touch with her! It'll be the best and easiest wedding decision you've made.
