"My grandmother’s battle with Alzheimer’s deeply influenced my perspective on memory and its fragility. I witnessed firsthand as her memories faded, erasing much of her life and her connections with those around her. This experience sparked a profound appreciation for photographs as tangible vessels of memory. I came to believe that, through a photograph, a moment could endure even if personal recollection of it faded.

Photographs allowed me to glimpse my grandmother’s life before the disease took hold, offering a way to know her in ways I never had the opportunity to experience directly. As I matured, this concept of preserving memories through tangible means became central to my purpose and shaped the way I sought to document and remember the world around me."
